More positive signs for Linux gaming

I know I’ve drunk the ol’ Linux Koolaid, but it seems like there’s a bunch of positive developments in Linux gaming recently. Now you’ve got Crytek porting their game engine to Linux. Which will theoretically make development a whole lot easier for a variety of folks. What we haven’t seen from anyone yet is an actual new game announcement. Starting to be quite a few ports of 3-4 year old games, tho. Also of note is that the rumor of Valve’s Steam controller’s death appears to be slightly exaggerated. And lastly, they are supporting a directX to OpenGL abstraction layer that should allow many non-cutting edge games to be easily moved to Linux.
