First off, no, it’s not the Fulton recovery system. But it’s close. Seriously, go read this article in the NYT right now.
Yeesh, this is amazing. I got nothin’ else.
This is a pretty great honest review for No Man’s Sky. My favorite quote: “At least they got one part of space exploration right: crushing loneliness.”
We’ve been radio silent lately because we’re all addicted to Dark Souls 3. As such, here’s vid of DS3 with all textures replaced with crabs (HT Todd).
What the fuck is going on in Kojima’s new game?
Because Zelda is finally coming. Check out the trailer below, in glorious 720P.
I’ve heard about Dwarf Fortress before, but I’ve never played it. Maybe I should, given this great article from the Seattle Weekly on the video game Dwarf Fortress. Oft considered the most complex video game ever created, Dwarf Fortress is less of an RPG and more of a world simulator. Here’s a great excerpt from the article (but go read it):
“If we just start with What’s in a dwarf’s head?, there’s 50-something personality facets we pulled from a psychology textbook, 30 intellectual values, a bunch of specific needs they have, like, if they like extravagant clothing,” Tarn says, “And then, based on all of that, there’s 120 different emotions.” It’s a remarkable amount of depth for a dwarf, a creature that, in the game, is represented by nothing more than a little smiley face.
And blogging about it. Check it out at CRPGAddict.blogspot.com. He’s basing this off wikipedia’s list of RPGs, his Google spreadsheet can be found here. Also, he seems committed, looks like he’s currently around 1990, tackling things like Dungeon of Nadrod and Magic Candle (huh?). This is truly a life’s work if ever there was such a thing.
Hulu is apparently dumping their anime back catalog so they can start airing live versions of The Bachelor Hoarders of Long Island. Or some dumb shit like that.
J, time to spin up your crunchyroll sub.
